Anke in Salamanca!

Season # 3

Hi everybody,

I know you all had to wait very long... but I've been enjoying my life and kinda forgot to write here... hihi!!
Since the 31st of august I'm back in Salamanca, for my 3th season with this great club. A new start, a new team. 5 old faces, 5 new faces.
The old once: Silvia, Sheila, Isa, Le'Coe and me
The new once: Marta, Alba, Olga, Sasha and Sancho
and a new coach and trainer: Jordi and Alex.

We started the season on october 10th. So far we have a 3 out of 4.
Tomorrow we start Euroleague, with an interesting game against our ex coach Jose Ignacio! He's the coach of Wisla Krakow (Poland) this season and they replace CSKA Moscow, who stepped out of euroleague because of money problems.
I hope I'm gonna be able to play a little bit, because I had fever the last two days and haven't been practicing with my team. But I'm much beter today, so I'll go to practice in the morning and we'll see how things go.
My parents are also coming tomorrow so hopefully they will see me out there on the floor hitting some 3s hihi

Just 3 more days...

yep... Just 3 more days before we play the semi final of the final 4 at home here in Salamanca in front of our home crowd! I'm really exited and looking forward to it! My parents and Marc will be here to see this great event of basketball! The team started selling the tickets and people are buying the special made T-shirts.
Since last night we started practicing in Multiusos (the big eventhall of the town with more then 5000 seats) where the Final 4 will take place.
Whoever wants to watch the games... Eurosport 2!

Final 4 in Salamanca!!!!

What a great year for Salamanca...

We are hosting the 'copa de la reina' (a 3 day tournament for the cup, 6-8 of march) and today Fiba decided that we will host the final 4 too... which will take place on the 3th and 5th of april.

I'm really excited and looking forward to this month of great basketball!!

after almost 2 months... I'm back!!

Hey everybody,

since I didn't really had time at home during my christmas break, and I haven't really taken the time yet here (also very busy with basketball) to update my blog, therefor I apologize and try to give you one now and be better again in the future... :)

I did had a great christmas break, almost 2 weeks at home, and for the first time in a long time I was home for new years :)
I had some really nice family parties and of course great times with my best friends!!

I'm already back in Salamanca for more then a month now and lots of good things have happened.

We did struggle in the beginning with our spanish league games, but we did win them all, except in Valencia.

In euroleague we had a great 1/8 final against CSKA (with Ann Wauters) and won 2-1. The last game at home we won after 2 overtimes... amazing!!

So now we play the 1/4 finals against Pecs (Hungary)
we start this tuesday at home, on friday we play in Pecs and if we need a third game we play again at home on wednesday... I'm really looking forward to these games!!

That's it for now, thanks again for all the votes for the All Star team... I'm really happy about it!! too bad I can't go... but there's always a next time... :)

Here it is... the long waited update... :)

Hi everybody,

sorry it took me so long to write again but after a week of travel, the visit of my aunt and another week of travel, I kinda lost a little bit track...
but here we go... my last blog from Salamanca in 2008!

So first basketball update:
In euroleague we finished the first round (group of 6 teams, 10 games, home and away) We finished 2nd with a balance of 7 wins and 3 loses.
So we advance to the 1/8 finals, who will be played at the end of januari, in a best of 3. In this round we meet CSKA Moscow (with Ann Wauters).

In the spanish league we won all our last games, but we still have one important one coming up this saturday in Mallorca. If we win this game, we end the first round in second position with a 11-2 balance.

Besides basketball, I had my aunt Rita over for a week. It was very nice to have her here again! We really enjoyed our time together.
On sunday (my only free day) we went to visit a small town about an hour south of Salamanca... in the mountains! Very pretty!

During the time she was here, there was also a special expotision at the plaza major... Manolo Valdés:

And for our last lunch, we went to the same place as last year (La Regenta) cause it was very nice... just check our deserts... mmmmmm
